BUSS IT UP

Saturday Sep 1st 2012

Khuja Lounge, Level 3/536 Queen Street Auckland, NZ

After a 4 year hiatus, Buss It Up finally returns bigger and badder than ever. A night of Dancehall, Roots and Hiphop featuring special guest, Judgement. Selecta Judgement is in town for one night only, fresh from a return trip to Jamaica with pockets full of hot tunes!
He will be joined by Mistahmumbles (ZULU Nation, Australia), and local Selectors; Gwaan Gal, Stinky Jim and FJ.

Doors open 9pm, only $10 cover charge.

This night is going to be massive, here is a bit about Guest Selecta - Judgement...
Hailing from the streets of Waterhouse, Kingston JA, Judgementís love of reggae music was instilled at an early age. An offspring of roots and culture as the nephew of Grammy award winning artist Mykal Rose, it was certain that the culture, vibe and lifestyle would help form Judgement as a selector. Influences of that era include the likes of Leroy Smart, Beres Hammond and Barrington Levy. As reggae music constantly evolves, the era Judgement clings to is the mid to late 80ís. A time when Saturday morning rituals involved mamaís fried dumpling cooking in the kitchen whilst his fatherís airing out the set (sound system) started with soul at early morning, followed by Studio One - stretching to late evening Ė an array of Jammyís, Cocoa Tea, Tenor Saw and Nitty Gritty.

Having supported acts such as Gappy Ranks, Luciano, Mykal Rose, Jah Mason, Bushman, Diplo & Skerrit Boy and Jack Scorpio, Judgement 's versatility is reflected in the delivery of diverse sets from dancehall to ska, underground hip hop to neo soul, house to roots.
