Thanks El Rocker, Ranking B)

Yup, I think it's Augustus... I really should read liner notes again for those things before airing them.

As for next Friday... Expect a few tracks from "Rewired for dub" by Mad Prof, Horace sings on it, and it is a fine example of the more recent work put out there by Mr Andy. :phones:

Skatalites... Hard to decide... I love it all! :respect:

Oh, the Mod/Ska night last night by 45 RPM was wicked!!! Killer vibe!

If you can send it again, I will be more dilligent and get it on day one, and play it next week!

Flyingfish... I will try to get in and add to the ska thing next week if you don't mind...

A big hallo to Selector NORRI from Japan! Bigups for your mix minidisk... Had a ball record hunting with you yesterday, and consider your mix put on air either this next show coming, or the week after.

I will post Fridays playlist either tonight or tomorrow, I am at work now recovering from a very hefty (but oh soooo much fun) fancydress party at the Maggotville warehouse last night. Bigups to all members of Scum System Kill!, Lauren, Jon Irish and all ppl who organised last night... It was RADTACULAR!!! I think I look a lot better as a corpse than my usual self... :dr3: :dr4: :dr3:

Hey, does anyone know how to add a photo/image to your profile? I am a non- computer fella by nature... Even posting on forums is scary to me... But I am trying

No gun culture/ego stuff here, just positivity OK?

OK, the offer is out there, PLEASE get in touch!

Any ideas regarding outdoor venues (clubhouse?)

Heyya Davy!

Thanks for the post!

I know what you mean regarding Horace (same went for Skatalites for me), it is quite hard to decide tracks to drop. I think I tend to just go with what I'm feelin at the time. I have never been a "planned playlist" type of radio fella, not that there is anything wrong with that... I am usually like a mental tornado at the best of times, and plans tend to go to sh**t anyway :dr4: .

Does Rub a Dub stream?

For that matter....

Are any other radio PPL interested in trading copies of their shows (tape, CD etc). There seem to be so many rad shows in Oz at the moment, and being mainly on community radio, not everyone gets to hear all they would like. I'll start a thread if anyone replies saying that it is a worthy idea. I also co-host the 2RRR Punk show, and the Punk kids on screamingbloodymess.com are well into tape trades. It's a good way for radio folk, bands with demo's, distro's to get their stuff heard regardless of financial constraints and lack of computer know how (I am definately one of the "not too good at computers" ppl.).

Anyway, just a thought...

OK, I also wanna put some info out deh regarding some cool 2RRR shows that some of ya may well be into...

2RRR 88:5FM SHOWS

LAWLESS STREET- A killer show hosted by PROFESSOR of OZREGGAE. Ska through Deejay sounds past an present Thursdays 4-6pm... Crucial!

THEMATICS- Hosted by FLYINGFISH, Saturday nights, 11pm-1am Sundays. A different theme each week, with music of all genres fitting into the week's chosen theme... This Sat... SKA!!! (I will hopefully come in on dis 'un)

PUNK SHOW- Mondays 6-7pm. Hosted by Nathan, (ahem) Robojase, Luke, Andrew, and (sadly) up until recently Flyingfish. Current DIY (not poppy) PUNKROCK, all the way back to include UK/US 70's classics, Mod, Hardcore, Ska, Reggae, Garage, Anarcho etc. Nathan is an unstoppable force, this show has been going for about twelve years now... NUFFRESPECT NATHAN

AUDIO CAFFEINE- After THEMATICS, Sunday 1am-6am... My "other" show. 5 hrs of musical randomness. NOT a reggae show, but I do play a lot of Dub somewhere in the mix. It can either follow a bit of a musical thread (this week, Mod, Soul, Powerpop, Ska, Roots, 70's Punk 7"s), or can be an arty-farty 5hr headf**k of a mix/ soundscape... I guess it is what it is...

Anyway, I know they're NOT reggae shows per se, but some of you may be interested...

Any recomendations as to 2-Tone, or Selekta Norri for this week?

Ahhhhhh, Monday is NEARLY over :dr3:

Davy my man...

That is one SCORCHER of a playlist!!!

Will do mi best to listen in on Wed... Any plans for the show yet?

I know what you mean, I bring in a lotta records for a two hour show, and usually do my back in for the rest of the week due to the weight of my record bag... Oh well, I do love this radio ting... Haha!

Just got a killer DVD of a Skinhead reggae night in the UK from SkinreggaeDJ legend Jim Cox! On the end there is bonus footage of Byron Lee and the Dragonairres with Jimmy Cliff, Prince Buster and a host of others jumpin on di mic waaaay back in day one a ska! It also has a great doco on the origional Skinhead/Mod movement and does a great job of demystifying this "All skins are racist" tripe... I have a lot of trad skin brothers and sisters and they would be no friend of mine if they a racist!

If anyone wants a copy of this, I will try and run a few off....
