At this stage I don't think Third World have been confirmed for Sydney, but I believe you'll have Lucky Dube on the Friday or Saturday night (heard today but forget which). Let you know when I get details... haven't heard anything bout Brissy yet though, sorry Phil ...

I cant understand why no promoters have picked up Third World for Sydney or Brisbane! ESPECIALLY Sydney (no offence Brisbane). WHA GWAAN?!!? Are there any promoters/organisers on this forum?

I had the great pleasure of interviewing Cat Coore from Third World yesterday. wicked interview, which I'll play on PBS the weekend before the show.

I also made sure to politely suggest that they concentrate more on their rasta roots material rather than their later crossover stuff... :ites:

Yes, hopefully there will be more roots material and less of "is everybody feelin' Irie" & "give it up for the brother bob" .. gets very old after a while.

But apart than that, Third World are wicked musicians inna pure class, and dam good entertainers..
Bunny still sounding sweet as ever !

"let me hear you say IRIE ... I can't hear you"

very true. I think that's more of a Reggae on the River thing though. almost every bloody act does that stuff at ROTR, I don't think it was particular to Third World...

Yo Jesse

I've sent emails all around Brissy looking for promoters - no takers as yet

This gets a bit annoying sometimes. LKJ was cancelled in Brisbane because the promoter was not getting enough pre-sold tickets however anyone in Brisbane knows the story here. People here just don't go for pre-sold tickets that much except if it's a really BIG artist thats touring :bye:

yeah I hear you. people here (especially in the reggae scene) seem pretty complacent when it comes to buying tickets. I guess it's because in the past, few shows would have sold out... but as reggae gets bigger... I reckon buying pre-sales isn't a bad idea!

I took a camera in to film Sly & Robbie. The venue didn't "technically" have No Camera policy, however Michael Rose threw a towel at me several times to turn it off.

Personal still cameras are allowed, so I dont see why video cams shouldn't be.

I personally think its a risk worth taking.
