I totally agree with Bazoo, as a Jamaican/British yout I actually find the name of the festival a little offensive considering the acts that top the bill, it's very gimmicky. If its not a strictly reggae festival then call it something else.
As festivals go the line-up is impressive, as reggae festivals go the line up is weak and poppy, but then the purpose of this festival is to make money not actually bring out the best reggae artists... more people are likely to pay to see Shaggy or Sean Paul than Sizzla and Capleton. Likewise they book a Marley son as it looks good on the bill.
Don't even get me started on the "Original" Wailers!!!
For the record...The word Raggamuffin (ragamufyn) is an old English word that means dirty street urchin. It later became the name of modern digital reggae and dancehall....

Raggamuffin is donating 100% of the Brisbane show takings to the flood relief, plus 10% of all other shows. Good on 'em.

Anyway, honestly, I'm more keen on Good Vibes for the powerhouse of Nas & Jr Gong alone!

The best performance I've ever seen at raggamuffin was Kymani Marley, an artist for the future, coming up with great original songs. Should have been on later. Jimmy Cliff deserves an honourable mention - great leg work, awesome band - is he the James Brown of reggae? Tight performance. Upt to di time, changing Aghanistan for Vietnam, and had boundless energy on stage.
Great vibe, nice venue, staff had a good attitude this year, the rest of the bill very average. Sean Paul no show. If you want value for your money tho, get there early and see Kymani - he has an awesome band too.
That was invasion day in Perth.
Who Jah Bless .....
