Unfortunately Spikey Tee is waylaid in the US of A for a week longer than intended due to his Natty Congo DJ commitments and won't reach the dance this Saturday. Apologies to Spikey Tee fans! This was to be the first time he'd perform officially with Fire House but there will be more dates set for the future and we look forward to those.

Will be a wicked night regardless - nuff performers, entertainers and music in store!

I regret that due to dates being reshuffled on my DJ tour of the states, I have to announce I won't be able to compere this next Firehouse dance.

Please accept my apologies as it was not my intention to let Firehouse down on this one and I will definitely be making up for missing out as soon as possible.

Static has accepted my apology with the minimum of fuss and for that I am grateful as neither of us had even thought of the possibility of this happening, in a perfect world? I'd already be in Sydney looking forward to proceedings, but bwoy. It go so some time.

Until we can.

Spikey

Had a really great time. Nuff positive vibes and concious sounds a gwaan fe real. As always the selections from L.Static, Nardo and Adrian were first class mixing some killer dub plates with classics both new and old.

I must say that this night was a bit different to previous Firehouses (in the best possible way) I have been to in the sense that there were a few different acts performing as well as a few other surpises that I will mention later.

First of the acts to get up was Wire MC & Cho Cho who dropped some nice Hip Hop rhymes over a few newer tracks. Like all the performers they had very positive and concious lyrics a gwaan. Sabotage got up after these guys and was solid. This yout definately got a wicked style a gwaan and will no doubt be dropin in this country for years to come. Following Sabotage Basslines did there thing. Was most impressed with the way these girls worked together with LOUIS taking care of the beats. This was followed by a bit of a jam with I think 6 vocalists being on the stage at one time. Nuff wickedness a gwaan from all parties (although I would probably only give myself a 6 out of 10 at best - haha) with every vocalist bringing positivity and conciousness to the mic. This was followed by a wicked likkle acoustic thing that Firehouse had cooked up with there mate Tim. Basically they played a wicked female accapella dub plate (who was dat again??) and Tim played accoustic guitar underneath it. Believe me it sounded wicked and was quite a pleasant change up. Then a few vocalists got up and did some more singing with just accoustic which was again very refreshing.

Anyways I went home feeling very peaceful and uplifted not long after this through tiredness so missed then end of the night.....

Just want to say big ups to the Firehouse boys, all the vocalists that blessed the mic, Basslines, Tim and all the people there who made it such a fantastic night. Much Love always....

good to read a run down about what went down: sounds like a solid party! Thanks CBH, nice one.

On a related note, respects also due to L.Static - some roots gems I picked up from Good Groove on my visit to Sydney went down a treat at Pressure Drop
