gotta big up this album which is now on release, CD & double vinyl, distributed thru Inertia - it is a hip hop record but there is a lot of reggae influence in the production (Sir Robbo!) & in fact three tunes are given versions at the end of the album ... so reggae people check those especially

if u want to take a listen - go to the FOTW show for 20 September (available for another week) - vocals matched with their versions

big up Nardo! i was going to post something up myself this week - nice to know there's some vibe on this.
there's no versions on the vinyl 'cos of space restricitions but we will try and do something about that down the track - maybe a special vinyl release of the dubs sometime in the new year. the c.d has the versions and 2 extra tunes that we couldn't fit on the vinyl - we tried to keep that at under 13 minutes a side to bring out the fatness, didn't want it sounding like some 80's Trojan comp!
Sheriff - we were offered gigs in Perth for the last weekend of November but my first child is due around then and i can't stand the thought of being so far away - just in case... we're planning to hit the west coast sometime in January.
i'll keep this forum posted with developments as they happen. i hope anyone who hears it or picks up a copy enjoys it.

Rainman is a good friend of our m.c Ozi Batla - he's dropping an album soon, he's an m.c, producer and dj and, yes, brings some reggae vibes (though not strictly reggae ) to his dj sets. i've been told that he'll be performing a live set as our support with DJ Affiks backing him, the style is a kinda mellow hip hop thing.

check it:

http://www.myspace.com/rainmantic

there may be room for Rhythm Collision to get onboard for the Brisbane show, i'm keen to have some reggae presence for all the major shows where possible. can you send me a contact for them or get them to message me and i'll break down the details for them.

thanks for the heads up.

pz.

no go unfortunately for us... i tried to hook it up (on your suggestion) but Rhythm Collision have their monthly dance that night - hopefully we can make it down to that after our own show - anyway, i hope to meet some of you brisbane heads at one or the other.

peace!

oh bummer, another unfortunate clash..............

hey Robbo, I was reading an article in Tsunami with Ozi Battla and he mentioned no samples after 1980.....what were some of the reggae samples you used?

still haven't managed to hear the album yet, but will get a copy soon............I went to Butter Beats today infact and it wasn't in..........

thanks Sheriff - it fills my heart with joy that you're digging the Astro vibes - i've always been a big fan of your work so to have it come back to me is really very cool... :respect:

Shadefoot - i can't talk about samples on a public forum, you know how it is... come to one of the shows and buy me a beer and we'll see where we go from there . but i must warn you i've got a terrible memory for names and song titles.

If you're hunting for a copy and your local record-spot doesn't have it you can always order it, it's available through Inertia Distribution ( cat# Ace 027 for c.d or Ace 028 for the double vinyl - on the Elefant Traks label ). Inertia also handles online sales so you can always go through them.

peace to y'all.
